Where to get Nikon NX Studio
FREE DOWNLOAD!
– NX Studio software offers a suite of tools for viewing, processing, and editing. It combines the photo and video-viewing features of ViewNX-i with the retouch tools of Capture NX-D. Download the software completely free from: http://bit.ly/nxstudio
The sharpening tools in NX Studio can be found under the Adjustments tab, then under the Sharpening Adjustment sub-menu. A further drop-down menu will show Original Value.
This menu also gives you the option to Record Adjustments or Edit Recorded Adjustments, enabling you to create a ‘sharpness profile’ for a specific camera to apply to images in the future. When you tick the Sharpness box, a slider showing 0 to 10 appears, as well as a box with up and down arrows. You can use both to adjust sharpness. The higher the number, the greater the sharpening.
To apply more localized sharpening, you use Unsharp Mask sharpening. Tick the box next to Unsharp Mask and now move to the sub-menu, showing RGB. This menu allows you to apply unsharp mask sharpening to all colour channels (RGB), or select a specific colour channel to sharpen. Each colour channel you select to sharpen appears on the Unsharp Mask list. The masks can be moved up or down in priority, or deleted using the three boxes below the Unsharp Mask heading.
