Cricket is trying hard to become global as it will help the sports financially and will lead to expansion as well. We have seen that minnows, the less fancied cricket nations, are made to play in the World Cup. Kenya, United Arab Emirates and Netherlands were part of the fifty over World Cup in 1996. The trend continued with other lesser popular countries qualify ing in the future editions. The last ODI extravaganza was played in Australia and New Zealand in 2015. Four years on, there was a famous victory over England and once more, in 2015, they have picked up the scalp of one of the Test-playing nations, West Indies. Lendl Simmons, with 102, and deposed captain Darren Sammy, with his highest ODI score of 89, led the West Indies’ recovery to 304-7, sharing a 154-run partnership for the sixth wicket and helping their team add 124 runs in its last 10 overs.
