After a disappointing Indian Premier League 2024 season, Gujarat Titans, under the leadership of Shubman Gill, will be hoping to come out trumps in IPL 2025. GT went on to get hold of several quality players in the mega auction held on November 26 and 27, respectively, in Jeddah. Before that, they retained 5 players. Overall, GT are an interesting side with quality players in the ranks. One expects the Titans to do a reasonable job in the upcoming season. GT’s retention of Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Rashid Khan, and Rahul Tewatia was no surprise. The only retention that did surprise was Shahrukh Khan, who has been more of style than substance. However, GT had different ideas. At the auction, the solid buys for GT were the likes of Jos Buttler and Kagiso Rabada for a handsome chunk of money. A lot of money was also spent on acquiring Indian pacers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. Some valuable foreign names, such as Gerald Coetzee, Glenn Phillips, and Karim Janat, were added.
GT have most of their bases covered, and this looks well for the 2022 champions. Ahead of the IPL 2025 season, we decode the strengths, weaknesses, and takeaways of the Titans.
