As a blue-blooded royal, Princess Eugenie is used to her fair share of big occasions, but preparing for a baby amid a worldwide pandemic is not something she ever imagined.
And now, just as the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew carefully counts down the days to the birth of her first child, she has found herself readying not just for motherhood, but for something much more unexpected – an elevated role within the royal family.
“It’s not something anyone ever anticipated,” reveals a royal insider. “But Eugenie is all set to step into the spotlight.”
This year is posing some big challenges for the British royals. The Queen turns 95 in April and is expected to wind down her duties, particularly as the COVID-19 pandemic rattles on.
