‘A mono scheme is SLEEK AND CHIC'

A smart combo of black and white wall and floor tiles has helped Sheelagh give period-style fittings a modern look in her family bathroom

Getting together with my partner Mark four years ago meant that we had to decide whose house we were going to live in with our blended family of six,’ says Sheelagh. ‘We decided in the end to sell my home and put the money into extending Mark’s house and making it somewhere we both wanted to live.

In 2018, we undertook a major rear and loft extension, as well as a complete renovation, adding another bedroom plus an en suite, so that each of our four girls had their own bedroom. However, that left the main bathroom looking dated, dull and definitely in need of some attention. We needed a style that would grow with the girls – three of whom are teenagers – and that would suit the house’s age, but had a contemporary, industrial edge.
