Awareness Of Covid-19 In Women

Women are synonymous with the word 'concealment'. She conceals her pain, only to caress her little baby, she forgets her lunch and goes hungry to feed her husband and her little ones. She will never open up to anyone about her problems, however sick she might be.

She silently bears abuses, negligence, and sadness but will never reveal the cause to anyone. She may be in tears, but she will never hesitate to wipe away the tears of her offspring, and however distraught she might be, she will never turn away from her family time. It's time we wake up and do something about the women in general. Women silently bear the labour pains, the premenstrual ache in her abdomen; but will anyone ever hold her hand and say, "I am there for you"?

Here, I want to tell you about women and Covid-19.

Many of them are ignorant about how to face this pandemic. What will happen if they get infected with COVID-19, who will look after the home and the inmates?

But we all must be aware that, Covid-19 occurs to men and women alike. There are studies where 100 babies have been born safely to mothers who were infected with Covid-19. All the babies were tested negative.

During lactation if the mother is infected with Covid-19, can she still breast feed the baby?

Studies have shown that the virus is not transmitted through the placenta and the baby is safe. The only problem is that while breast feeding, mothers cannot maintain the social distancing with the baby. Due to this, the virus may infect the baby, just in the same way it infects others.

So while breastfeeding, Covid positive mothers have to wear a PPE and and wear double mask and hood. Safety through hand washing and sanitisation is also required.
