Atherstack 6, more range and updated tyres made the 450X more entertaining than before

HIGH STACKS

The Ather 450X has been one of my favourite e-scooters, and though I have had fun in the city with it, never had I imagined hooning on a track on it. Though it was a go-kart track, it was just perfect to have fun with the 2025 model... and, well, test the updates, of course. And the way folks at Ather altered the track, there wasn't much choice, either.

If it wasn't for this fancy 'Stealth Blue' colour, one wouldn't even know that this is the latest update. Yeah, I get that even after seven years, the scooter still looks like it belongs in 2025, but come on, after all these years, the 450X deserves a little bit more than just a paint job, right?

imageThe new 450X also continues with the same suspension and braking hardware, too. This means the scooter still has a firm suspension and a bit-too-enthu brakes. Though Ather has skipped on adding ABS, you will find yourself relying a bit less on them to shed speed... at least I did.

When I'm around old motorcycles, I often find myself wondering what it must've been like to be born in an earlier time. Wondering, mind you, not wishing. I wonder what it was like when mankind invented the motorcycle. I wouldn't want to get anywhere near the first motorcycle, the Daimler Reitwagen (the word means 'riding car', stupidly enough), made by German inventors Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in 1885. To quote Melissa Holbrook Pierson, 'The first motorcycle looks like an instrument of torture.' And something that might cause an explosion uncomfortably close to one's nether regions. Right after it's shaken loose every healed bone in one's body.
