IN A 'BARBIE' WORLD

All the fans of Barbie were rejuvenated on hearing the news about a movie on 'Barbie' by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The movie has become a certified hit making almost $1 billion in little over two weeks of its release. It is the highest grossing film to be directed by a female director. It became the highest grossing film by Warner Bros. surpassing 'The Dark Knight'. I guess 'Pink won over the Dark'. Greta Gerwig, the mastermind behind Oscar-nominated films such as Lady Bird and Little Women, directed the film. She also wrote the screenplay for the film alongside her partner Noah Baumbach.

While interacting with Carey Mulligan in a December 2022 interview for Variety's "Actors on Actors" series, Robbie discussed that there'd be some of the dream houses and that they will everything we dreamed of, when asked about if we can get to see dreamhouses in the film.

The Greta-Gerwig directed film took a while to get itself together. Amy Schumer was originally set to star in the movie, back in 2016. But she had to leave the film due to creative differences. Later in 2019, Margot Robbie joined the cast as the lead role of 'Barbie', the iconic mattel doll. In October 2021, Ryan Gosling joined the cast as Barbie's plastic partner, Ken.

During an event, Gerwig stated that she was so happy to be on the set and that she cried when she first stepped on the set for the first time. Margot Robbie asserted this saying that they could feel that Gerwig was so happy every day. On a different note, she stated that she wishes that her film opens a new world and a lot of potential for many more Barbie movies and that there are higher chances of sequel(s).
