For most of us, winter is coming. For S.T. Dupont of Paris, France, winter is already here. The storied accessories company has partnered with media company Warner Brothers in its most recent popular culture collaboration. S.T. Dupont is one of only four luxury brands that is officially licensed to produce Game of Thrones-inspired pens and accessories.

The HBO series Game of Thrones was a cultural phenomenon during its eight-year run (2011-2019). The series, inspired by the Song of Ice and Fire fantasy novels of George R.R. Martin, became one of the most acclaimed television programs of all time. It is credited with rejuvenating public interest in the fantasy genre and the medieval European history that provided the basis for the fictional continent of Westeros. The show proved so popular that HBO followed it up with a prequel series, House of the Dragon, with the second season currently airing.

Mélanie Yagué is S.T. Dupont's Global International Communications Manager. She says, "The Game of Thrones series has had a global resonance, with fans eagerly anticipating each new season as a major cultural event. The visual themes of Game of Thrones—rich, detailed, and deeply imaginative—are a perfect source of inspiration that align seamlessly with S.T. Dupont's constant pursuit of innovation and excellence, core elements of our brand's DNA."

It is also, arguably, the most ambitious of S.T. Dupont's recent treatments of current pop culture utilizing the brand's legacy in guilloche, natural lacquer, and metalwork. Previous collaborations include Iron Man (2016), Pirates of the Caribbean (2017), James Bond (2015 and 2018), and Star Wars (2015).
