Islam saved me and gave me clarity

RHOC star Paige Chohan opens up about religion and faith, and why she's not afraid to be her authentic self on camera

At 33, Paige Chohan may be one of the youngest cast members of The Real Housewives Of Cheshire, but she's certainly shown she can hold her own.

Last March, Paige welcomed her first child, daughter Nora, with her entrepreneur husband Amir, 36, and since then has gone on to transform her physical and mental state.

The reality star tells New that her recent weight loss has helped to revolutionise her mental health and self-esteem, as well as helping her be her “true authentic self” on camera.

Paige also reveals that she gained 3st during her pregnancy. While she admits it's natural for women's bodies to change and wouldn't alter her journey to parenthood for the world, she admits that she got to the point where she just wanted to “feel herself again”.

“I'd always been into fitness prior to being pregnant,” she says. “Throughout pregnancy, I gained 3st – your body changes so much. Even after your child is born, you go through so many changes – you're up all night with a newborn. I just wanted to get back in the gym and feel like myself again. I needed it for my headspace, too.”

She adds that it wasn't necessarily about losing the weight, which was a benefit, but more about mental clarity.

“I wanted to feel strong and healthy,” Paige says, adding, “I love having curves, so I was making sure I was maintaining my curves while keeping strong and weight-lifting.”
