'My dad was the only suspect'

Ahead of a chilling new documentary, Tina Wing's son Daniel speaks to new about finding justice for his mother 32 years after her brutal unsolved murder

As far back as Daniel Wing can remember, he has always had his shoebox. As a little boy, he would occasionally get it out, thumbing through cherished photographs of his mother. Inside, he found mementos: a worn address book, a poem, some school reports, cards, and her birth and death certificates.

Everything Daniel knew about Tina Wing's life was contained within that precious box.

Now, more than 30 years later, in a new two-part documentary, Who Murdered You, Mum?, he is finally sharing his deeply personal journey with the world.

Tina was just 32 in 1992 when her life was violently cut short. She was brutally murdered while out walking on her own, leaving behind her young son.

Now 33 and a successful model, in an exclusive interview, Daniel says, "My mum was living in Friern Barnet Hospital, a mental health facility. She was there for postnatal depression and rehabilitation. On her first day going out for an unescorted walk, she was brutally stabbed multiple times and strangled."

Tina's body was found near a bin area in the hospital grounds.

The details are haunting. "She was supposed to be on this walk, but she never returned. Four hours later, someone found her body. That breaks my heart. Why didn't anyone look for her?" Daniel asks.

"Tina, Mother, Mummy... I never got to call her any of these things; she never got me to speak a word."

Brought up by his grandmother Lily Wing in Tottenham, north London, Daniel enjoyed a childhood full of love and care.
