The TV personality reflects on life following the tragic death of her husband, Broadway star Nick Cordero, in 2020
-
It hasn’t been easy for TV personality Amanda Kloots to navigate life as a single mother to her 3-year-old son, Elvis, since the tragic passing of her husband, Tony Award nominated actor Nick Cordero, who died in 2020 from complications from COVID-19 at the age of 41. “It’s a constant battle,” says the 41-year-old DWTS finalist. Thankfully, she hasn’t had to do it all alone. “I have a lot of help,” reveals the multitasking mama, author, The Talk co-host, actress and fitness guru. “And I’m never afraid to ask for more help, because it’s so hard to do everything.” Here, Amanda talks to In Touch’s Fortune Benatar about her new children’s book, Tell Me Your Dreams, her grieving process, and how she honors Nick’s life.
It’s been nearly three years since Nick died. What advice would you give to anyone struggling with loss?
AK: Anytime you can receive help along this journey, the better. Understand that it doesn’t end…it’s a battle you have to learn how to live with. Especially when you’re raising a little child. Elvis is starting to ask about his dad, and it’s really hard.
How do you handle those conversations?
