Bhalu had sent an invitation for a grand feast at his restaurant to all the inhabitants of Nandanvan!
On the day of the feast, the birds were chirping, the elephants were trumpeting, the tigers were roaring, the cats were meowing, and the rabbits hopped around purring joyfully. They were all excited to go to the feast.
All except Mushik mouse sat under the banyan tree, feeling sad. No one paid attention to him.
Rinku rabbit, who was passing by the banyan tree to go home and get ready for the feast, saw Mushik under the tree and asked, "Hey Mushik, why do you look so upset?"
Mushik did not answer Rinku and kept quiet.
"Come on, Mushik! Tell me?" insisted Rinku. By then, few other animals had gathered there too. "What's the matter, Mushik? We're all here for you," said Rinku lovingly.
"I am poor. I cannot attend a party at Bhalu's restaurant, without carrying a gift?" sobbed Mushik.
