KASHI A LIVING CITY

I used to live in Delhi during my job, my train used to reach my hometown at around 6:00 am in the morning. As soon as bhajans were heard in my ears and temple bells were heard, I used to understand that the train is about to reach Kashi.

I am always curious about this City how this city sustained in same way for 3000 years. Because of this the city was attacked many times by foreigner invaders and its civilization its rituals and people were attacked many times. The people living here and the civilization never changed for 2500 years. What was it that even today Kashi was able to save its civilization, culture and rituals for 2500 years in the same way even after trying to change Kashi by so many foreigner invaders.

Today the world is living in the era of artificial intelligence and internet, technology has developed a lot and you will see its effect in Varanasi as well. The amazing thing is that the wonderful confluence of today's new technological age and old civilization that you will see in Varanasi is rare to see anywhere else in the world. Even today people worship River Ganga, Cow, Bulls, Banyan Tree, Pipal Tree and following many old beliefs and along with the use new technology, a new example of this, all the provisions have been made available online for darshan worship in Kashi Vishwanath temple.

Kashi has always been the centre of religious knowledge and science. Sushruta Rishi, who is considered the father of surgery, or Patanjali, the father of yoga, both have a very deep connection with Kashi. Great poets of Hindi like Great Poet Tulsidas or Kabir Das also belong to Kashi. In singing, Bismillah Khan, RajanSajan and many other great singing royals belong to Kashi.

Pandit Haridas, Tailang Swami, Lahari Mahashay and countless sages and saints live here. This city is still full of sages and saints. Where on one hand even today, you learn religious studies, Sanskrit university taught you Sanskrit, on the other hand, an Indian Institute of Technology teach you modern Science and Technology and IMS BHU taught you modern medical sciences.
