As former EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis investigates her family tree for this week’s episode of BBC1’s Who Do You Think You Are?, she uncovers an intriguing story about a rumpus that resembled a classic Queen Vic brawl.
The actor, Strictly Come Dancing winner and campaigner for deaf rights tries to find out more about her maternal three-times greatgrandmother Agnes Chilton, who ran several pubs in Aston, near Birmingham, in the late 19th and early 20th century. She learns that Agnes defended her first husband Alfred in court when he was accused of slapping a punter.
