“THESE ARE THE MOST comfortable pair of pants I've ever worn,” I exclaim to Sparrowgreen founder Aaron Ler as I try on his latest Tech Lyocell joggers. In black and green with four pockets and three compartments, the sleek Parson II Aviator Pants fit perfectly. Tech Lyocell feels great against my skin, and it is so stretchable. If I could do splits—and I cannot—these are the pants I would wear. Ler carefully selected it for its premium feel. It is lighter and airier, and wicks moisture away more effectively than other fabrics. In addition, its eco-friendly manufacturing produces non-toxic, biodegradable by-products.
“My products must be the best for consumers, the planet, and myself,” Ler tells me while I walk around his store in Tangs in long strides, appreciating the material of the pants and its flexibility.
We first met at last year’s Ultraluxe, a festival showcasing the finest luxury goods made in Singapore, and mostly by Singaporeans. Sparrowgreen was one of the few labels hand-picked for the festival. Two of his pieces immediately caught my eye: a reversible utilitarian vest and a pair of Parson II Aviator pants in navy blue and green.
