BREGUET'S NEW Classique Double Tourbillon "Quai de l'Horloge" 5345 is more than a horological masterpiece. As a matter of fact, the most fundamental truth of the timepiece is how immediately astounding it is.
The watch comes in a 46-millimetre 18-carat rose gold case with a Breguet-embossed royal blue strap. With its skeletonised dial, collectors can admire the twin rotating tourbillons at work. Additionally, it displays time by a chapter ring with Roman numerals on a sapphire disc instead of indices.
Crafted for museums, the elegant Classique Double Tourbillon "Quai de l'Horloge" 5345 is a fitting tribute to Abraham-Louis Breguet's famous tourbillon regulator, patented on 26 June 1801.
At its heart is the Calibre 588N2, a powerful hand-wound movement deserving of such a momentous watch. Among its 740 components are balance springs with a Breguet overcoil and the two tourbillons connected by a bridge to a centre plate. The movement is a triumph of both engineering and art as it incorporates three artistic crafts that elevate its aesthetics: guilloché, engraving and chamfering.
