Greg Evans breaks into the sunniest smile when talking about his beautiful wife, Sue. Four years shy of notching up 50 years of marriage, the couple still hold hands like smitten teens, and share “gorgeously loved-up” date nights.

Perpetually cheerful Greg, who skyrocketed to fame as the host of the hit ’80’s dating show Perfect Match, still can’t believe he hit the romance jackpot.

“I pinch myself thinking about how fortunate I’ve been. Cupid’s arrow hit a bullseye,” beams Greg as he shows New Idea around his property overlooking Victoria’s Lake Eildon.

“I was working on Melbourne radio and Sue was with a record company, looking after stars like Rod Stewart and Roberta Flack.

“What began as a phone friendship changed when we met for drinks.”

Greg and Sue, 70, soon married on November 13, 1976. They honeymooned in Fiji, although it was, in Greg’s words, “a disaster”.
