ACE JAKE ENJOYS PERFECT ENDIG

ENFIELD Town striker Jake Cass says it was an ‘incredibly difficult decision’ to hang up his boots – but that he will always have magical memories of his Non-League career.

ACE JAKE ENJOYS PERFECT ENDIG

The powerful forward, who turned 31 on Thursday, has decided to call time for a couple of reasons. Firstly, he now lives in Dubai and secondly, he needs further knee surgery.

He told The NLP: “I travel a lot with work and in my life, and I no longer live in the UK. I started a business four-anda-half years ago, a tech and media agency, and I’ve put blood, sweat and tears into it.

“I have an unorthodox lifestyle and travel a lot, but I’ve always tried to play 30-40 games a season.

“Anyone who has followed my journey knows I’ve had some bad injuries and I now need a knee op. My meniscus has two separate tears and there’s a cyst as well. I’m not sure that I would be able to play again.”

At least Cass was able to bow out in style having played a part in Enfield Town’s promotion to National League South via the play-offs. That looked a longshot when he ruptured his Achilles in the second game of the season.
