UPBEAT Hemel Hempstead Town boss Bobby Wilkinson believes his capture of highly-rated Ricardo German is proof that his early summer business policy bears dividends.
The 25-year-old former Crawley Town striker hit 31 league goals for Chesham United last term as they won Southern Premier South.
The powerful forward was a man in demand but it was Wilkinson who won the race for his signature.
Former Tudors loanee German is one of 14 signings enced boss has already made this summer - and arguably the most high profile.
We had a coffee and then he came and met me again a few days later," explained Wilkinson, who took the Hemel job in mid-April with just one game left. "If you want a certain calibre of player you have to show you want them and fight for them.
"I was really happy to sign a prolific goalscorer who people thought was going to the National League or even higher. It's credit to everyone at the football club.
