ROBBIE SIMPSON’S red-hot Chelmsford made it six league victories in a row with a 1-0 win at Hampton & Richmond yesterday.
A feisty affair contained plenty of chances and five yellow cards, yet it was Charlie Ruff’s lone goal in the 63rd minute that gave the away side all three points.
The thrilling clash pitted Hampton boss Mel Gwinnett against his former protege in Simpson. Adding an extra layer of intrigue, the reverse fixture ended 1-1 and both sides sat firmly in the play-off spots before kick-off. The home side started on the front foot with Ben Seymour having the first chance of the game in the third minute as he headed over the bar.
