UNSWORTH'S SUPER LATICS BOUNCE BACK WITH STYLE!

OLDHAM Athletic marked manager David Unsworth’s return to the technical area with an emphatic victory over Aldershot Town.

Doubles from new signings James Norwood and Brennan Dickenson and a cool strike from Ben Tollitt gave the Latics their first three points of the season and relinquished memories of last week’s drubbing at Southend United – where Unsworth was absent due to illness.

An entertainingly even opening was washed away on the half-hour as the home side burst into life.

First, striker Joe Nuttall shrugged off a defender on the left wing before setting up Norwood – looking every bit the player Oldham hope he will be after arriving from League One side Barnsley – for a tap in, before a thunderbolt from Dickenson rifled past van Stappersheof from 30-yards.

Nicknamed ‘The Hammer’ by his teammates, it’s little exaggeration to roll out the ‘goal of the season’ labels so early in the campaign such was this strike’s exquisiteness.
