The 8th Gender Equality Summit 2025 on the theme- "Pathways to Partnerships and Collaborative Action: Bringing South Asia Together for SDG 5", was held at Taj Mahal, Man Singh Road, New Delhi, on 18th March 2025.

The summit provided a crucial platform for stakeholders advocating strong regional cooperation in advancing gender parity.
In a new world order marked by geopolitical uncertainties, greater collaboration is essential to ensure sustainable economic growth. The 8th Gender Equality Summit 2025, organized by the United Nations Global Compact Network India (UNGCNI), served as a remarkable platform. It brought together policymakers, corporate leaders, visionaries, and civil society representatives to accelerate action towards Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5): Gender Equality.
The Summit provided a crucial platform for advancing regional cooperation in gender parity. It featured insightful discussions, impactful deliberations, and a roadmap for stronger multi-sectoral partnerships.
Smt. Savitri Thakur, Minister of State, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, in her inaugural address shared by the ministry, said that "Women's empowerment is not just the responsibility of the government, all sections of society, including the private sector, must step forward to support this. Organizations must provide not just employment opportunities to lift women but also create leadership positions for women. Workplaces must be safe, respectful, and equitable."
