Exploitation of our net zero madness is never-ending
March 26, 2025
|Daily Express
SOLAR panels made in China, possibly with slave labour, will soon be covering the roofs of our NHS buildings and schools in order to hit Ed Miliband's net zero target.
Where is the sense in that? In the meantime, Chinese electric car-making giant BYD topped $100 billion in sales last year, further destroying the market for European carmakers.
It's a win-win for China as it exploits our witless obsession with decarbonisation while pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere from coal-fired power stations.
This week, Labour MPs are being dragooned to vote against a House of Lords amendment to the Great British Energy Bill that will spend £189million of taxpayers' money on solar panels, many of them likely to have been made in China by forced labour from those who oppose the Communist regime. So, net zero trumps human rights and sucks yet more money out of our economy to enrich the Chinese autocracy.
Only ideologically-possessed idiots would consider this a good idea when Britain contributes less than 1% of carbon dioxide to the the atmosphere while China is the world leader, producing 13,260 tons amounting to a staggering 33.98% of world emissions in 2023. Britain is 18th in the world league behind even Vietnam and South Africa.
