Israel continues to hit Lebanon despite US plea for restraint

ISRAEL carried out scores of attacks in Lebanon yesterday hours after Joe Biden warned Benjamin Netanyahu to minimise harm to civilians.
The Israeli Prime Minister appeared to ignore the pleas for restraint from the US President as his forces once again went on the offensive.
Israel targeted several attacks on Beirut's southern suburbs and were reported to have carried out strikes in central Beirut.
Eighteen people were killed in airstrikes on the city last night, the Lebanese health ministry said. Another 92 were wounded.
Earlier it said five health workers were killed in a strike on Derdghaiya, a town in the south, taking the death toll of medics to 115.
