TRIPLE Olympic champion Adam Peaty’s lingering “anger” over his near-miss in Paris means he has not ruled out competing at Los Angeles in 2028.
Team GB’s king of Pool Britannia was denied a hat-trick of gold medals in the 100m breaststroke by just 0.02secs, despite a severe chest infection that turned out to be Covid.
Peaty would have become the second man, after American legend Michael Phelps, right, to win the same event at three consecutive Games.
But he was pipped in the last half-dozen strokes by unfancied Italian Nicolo Martinenghi.
Four months on, Peaty’s soul-searching over retirement and featuring at a fourth Games has been inconclusive.
However, he could be tempted to carry on if the 50m breaststroke – a distance at which he is world-record holder – is added to the roster in 2028.
