Two British crew under investigation over yacht tragedy

TWO British crew members on the £30million Bayesian superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily have been placed under investigation by the local prosecutor's office.

Tim Parker-Eaton was in charge of the engine room on the night of the tragedy that claimed the lives of seven people, while Matthew Griffith was the on-deck crew member responsible for keeping watch.

It is understood the pair, along with Dutch first officer Tijs Koopmans, 33, remained in Italy voluntarily to assist investigators probing the disaster.

But they are now set to face formal interrogation for potential criminality including manslaughter and shipwreck over the disaster in which British tech billionaire Mike Lynch, 59, and his daughter Hannah, 18, died.
