Massey delayed his honeymoon to take on Opetaia and is convinced he'll have belt on trip to Maldives

JACK MASSEY was putting the final touches to his wedding speech when the call came that he had landed another big date.

The Derbyshire-born cruiserweight was just days out from his nuptials when he got notice he would be facing IBF champion Jai Opetaia in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

Massey, 31, had to break it to wife-to-be Amber that their honeymoon had to be put on hold.

But now he's hoping he will have something extra special in their luggage for the trip to the Maldives in a couple of weeks - the IBF belt.

"It got confirmed a couple of days before I was getting married," said Massey.

"That was a mad one. I got married, I was fit and training up until the wedding because we knew it was coming.

"I was straight back to the gym a couple of days after the wedding.
