Sir David: It ruined Fools and Horses

MAKING Del Boy Trotter a millionaire was a mistake that ruined Only Fools and Horses, Sir David Jason has declared.

The veteran actor, who played the ducking and diving wheeler dealer, said he believed his struggles to make ends meet was what made the show so funny.

Del, who regularly said to his brother "this time next year, Rodney, we'll be millionaires", got his wish in the 1996 Christmas special Time On Our Hands.
