Tommy pips Rory to the glory after Ryder pal finds water from 18th tee

TOMMY FLEETWOOD held off the challenge of Ryder Cup team-mate Rory Mcllroy with a big finish to claim a dramatic victory at the Dubai Invitational.

The Englishman went into the final round with a one-shot lead and was three clear at one point but found himself one behind Mcllroy as they stood on the 18th tee.

But the Northern Irishman hooked his tee shot into the water and Fleetwood then rolled in a 16-foot putt for a birdie-birdie finish and a one-shot victory as Mcllroy made a bogey.
