HARD-AS-NAILS Glen Young has three Scotland caps but none in the heat of Six Nations battle.

And if he does get the nod to take the field against Wales on Saturday, it will be a dream come true for the Edinburgh lock, who grew up pretending he was turning out for his country while playing on concrete at home in Jedburgh.

Now 29, Young was a late developer. He made his debut against Argentina on the 2022 summer tour, then played the same opponents and Australia later the same year.

He was as proud as anyone can be to be capped by their country but admits the Six Nations is the big one.

He said: "It's my first Six Nations, so I'm really excited about that. That's the one for me I grew up watching. You had the World Cup every four years, which is really exciting.
