Diomande dares to dream after impressive Ibrox bow

FUTURE'S RIGHT

HE'S a product of the renowned Right to Dream football academy in Africa.

And for Mohamed Diomande, a January switch to Rangers moves him a step closer to living out his childhood fantasies in the beautiful game.

The 22-year-old has already achieved one of those, having enjoyed his full debut in front of 45,000 fans at Ibrox in Saturday's 2-0 Scottish Cup win over Ayr.

It was certainly a step up from Nordsjaelland's 10,000-capacity Right to Dream Park, where his sparkling performances over the last few seasons made Diomande one of the most valuable gems in Danish football.

While bigger and better occasions could well lie in store in the not too distant future, the £4.5million midfielder believes he has much to do in Govan before he earns the right to live out his dream for real.

With the League Cup already tucked away a month before Diomande's arrival, Rangers are fighting on three more fronts with the title race nip and tuck, a quarter-final spot in the Scottish Cup secured and a last-16 tie in the Europa League to look forward to.

A Philippe Clement's side can go top of the Premiership with a three-goal win over struggling Ross County at Ibrox on Wednesday.
