UKRAINE fears Russia plans to blow up a major dam to create a devastating flood.
They believe ruthless commander Sergei Surovikin has ordered retreating troops to mine a hydro-electric barrage to kill hundreds and halt the Kherson counter-offensive.
Blowing the 30-metres tall and two-miles long Kakhovka dam on the Dnipro river would also cripple Ukraine’s energy supplies as it serves the hydroelectric power plant.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky warned: “Now everyone in the world must act powerfully and quickly to prevent a new Russian terrorist attack. Destroying the dam would mean a large-scale disaster.”
It follows days of missile and drone strikes on 40% of Ukraine’s power and water systems, sparking fears of winter blackouts throughout the country.
