Medics deemed the young mum unfit to fly due to her serious injuries. She was driven 2149 miles by a medical team to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on Tuesday.
Her family issued an update on her recovery writing: "Stephanie and her mum are on the road home with a medical team from Bulgaria.
