CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has come back fighting after being labelled a "misogynist" and a "dinosaur" following a weekend exchange with a female journalist.

Rodgers faced the cameras at the club's Lennoxtown training ground yesterday, following a furious reaction to his post-match interview with Jane Lewis of the BBC in the immediate aftermath of his side's late win against Motherwell on Sunday.

The visibly uncomfortable manager cut the conversation short live on air when asked to explain a cryptic message about the champions "writing their own story" between now and the end of the season, after falling two points behind Rangers at the top of the Premiership table.

He was subsequently hammered for calling Lewis a "good girl" while walking away from the interview.

Rodgers was accused of indulging in "casual sexism" by campaign group Women for Scotland and his comment was also highlighted by veteran broadcaster Jeff Stelling.
