MORE than half a million Scots have been so worried by debt it has negatively impacted their mental health, a poll has found.
Analysis of a YouGov survey by Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) found an estimated 665,000 people had concerns about their personal finances in the last year.
The results were published today as the charity launches a campaign encouraging Scots worried about bills to seek advice on possible solutions.
CAS said it had helped its clients write off over £ 11 million worth of debt, an average of more than £12,600 per person, since last spring.
Sarah Jayne Dunn, a financial health spokeswoman for CAS, said: "There is a clear link between money and mental health and that will have been exacerbated by the cost-of-living crisis.
