A DAD was told he had six months to live with a brain tumour - before learning it was only an abscess.
Callum Laing, 40, planned his funeral and even told wife Vikki to find a new man.
But weeks later doctors did a scan and found they'd been wrong about the huge mass.
Now he, Vikki and sons Joey and Jed relish every day.
Callum said: "I felt like the luckiest man alive."
MIRACLE MAN
• Callum is given 6 months to live after being diagnosed with cancer
• He prepares for his funeral and tells wife to start again after he dies
• He wakes from brain surgery to be told 'tumour' is actually an abscess
A DAD given six months to live began planning his own funeral and told his wife to find a new man - before doctors told him the "cancer" was a harmless abscess.
Callum Laing, 40, had been suffering from intense headaches when medics carried out a scan and discovered a mass roughly the size of an orange growing inside his skull.
He was diagnosed with an incurable stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumour and told he should prepare for death "by Christmas".
The dad of two began preparing for his own funeral, planning to scatter his ashes on his favourite beach.
And he even told wife Vikki she needed to find a new man when he was no longer around. But just weeks later, after surgeons attempted to operate on the growth, Callum was given the news the lump was benign.
And now he says he is getting a "second shot at life".
Stunned Callum, from Kirkcaldy, Fife, described the ordeal as the "biggest rollercoaster of his life".
