ADAM WEBB admits he's an American sports fan who allows himself to dream like any other supporter.

But the new man at the St Johnstone helm has got no fanciful pledges to peddle or wacky ways to get there when it comes to the business of boosting St Johnstone.

The Atlanta lawyer cut an impressive figure alongside outgoing custodian Geoff Brown yesterday.

While he's bursting with pride and plans for the Perth club, Webb does realism better than the archetypal new overseas owner.

Webb revealed he has already injected fresh funds into Craig Levein's spending pot.

He hopes to help bolster the first team further if plans for lifting revenue take off.

Webb, who owns a 10 per cent stake in English League One outfit Cambridge, has become the fourth US owner in Scottish football.

In what must have been music to the ears of the Brown family after their steady stewardship of 38 years, Webb said: "You don't want to be deemed silly. When you're in the Scottish Premiership, you don't have the dreams you might have in other leagues.
