Student: 'I'm not made for prison at all’

A FORMER prison officer described a jail fight, which left a tragic young student "terrified", as the worst she'd ever seen.

Katie Allan, had been serving lunches to inmates when the "huge physical fight" broke out at Polmont Young Offenders' Institution, Stirlingshire, a fatal accident inquiry was told yesterday.

She had to be shut in a pantry as warders dealt with the aftermath.

That afternoon Katie told her mum she was "petrified" at the unpredictability of the environment she was in. She said she hadn't slept for three nights because she was being threatened.
