LEE CARSLEY talks like a man who wants to be a big part of England's future.

Whether he gets his wish remains to be seen, however, following last week's crushing defeat to Greece at Wembley.

Carsley's big audition as interim boss suffered a huge setback, with the Greek game becoming a black mark on his CV.

And he sounds like a man who wants to be handed the challenge of leading the Three Lions to what would be their first major trophy since 1966.

Carsley said: "I think the past, potentially, is a good indicator of the future. And we've got quite a few players now that are currently in the squad and around the squad that have won a lot with England.
