THE S-CLASS customer, it can be argued, has pretty much achieved most materialistic things in life.
But when you see an S-Class customer (in his ₹2 crore car) taking photos of the SUV you are driving, it has to be special.
That's the effect the G-Wagen (Geländewagen, German for SUV) can have on most people - as I observed driving it around Delhi.
What's the G-Wagen?
It's the ultimate SUV - it looks like an SUV (boxy), is built like an SUV (ladder frame), feels like an SUV (really tall), sounds like an SUV (diesel engine), and drives like an SUV (a bit of body roll). In short, it's the ultimate playbook on SUVs.
The model in these photos is the G 400d Adventure Edition, with a functional roof rack - if you're out camping, you can climb on top, set your tent, and enjoy the stars (it can take up to 100 kg weight). But the roof rack blocks half the sunroof (do you even need a sunroof?).
