Cab stops, pedestrian stretch at Sec 29 part of NYE curbs in Ggm

Police will deploy 3,000 personnel across the city and designate multiple parking spots for vehicles visiting Cyber Hub, MG Road and Sector 29 from 9pm to 2am on Sunday, which will mark the New Year's Eve, officers in Gurugram aware of the plans said on Friday.

Traffic will be prohibited on internal roads in Sector 29 that connect to markets and hotels.

Vehicles will be parked at four designated spots around the market areas, and visitors will have to walk to the party venues in what will be designated a pedestrian zone, they added.

Officials also said there will be spots for cab pickups and enclosures to park private vehicles in areas such as Golf Course Road, Sohna Road, Cyber Hub, Sector 29, Sector 65 and MG Road, which are expected to record a heavy footfall. These areas are dotted with clubs, pubs, restaurants and hotels.

A total of 10 police teams have already been deployed to crack down on those driving under the influence of alcohol, the officers added.
