2,000 public assaults in Dublin since start of year

THERE have been more than 2,000 assaults in public places in Dublin this year, figures show.

However, despite the recent spate of shocking attacks, there have been fewer incidents than the same period last year.

Garda figures reveal for the first seven months of this year, numbers are up on 2020 and 2021 but are less than 2019 and slightly fewer than last year.
