It follows an increasingly loud party clamour to prevent the 81-year-old US President from serving a second term after a bombshell report found he had “significant limitations in his memory”.
In a Justice Department probe into Mr Biden’s handling of classified documents, special counsel Robert Hur found he struggled to recall when he was vice president or when his son died.
On Thursday Mr Biden said his memory was “fine” but he confused Mexico and Egypt.
On Wednesday he twice mixed up German Chancellor Angela Merkel with her predecessor Helmut Kohl.
He has also confused French President Emmanuel Macron with Francois Mitterrand.
