Albion back to winning ways after weathering Storm Darragh

PLYMOUTH Albion got back to winning ways following a five-game winless streak with a resounding victory at home to Darlington, in some of the worst conditions you're likely to see a game of rugby be played in.

With the wind howling from one end of the ground to the other, making it impossible to kick from one end, and turning 30-yard kicks into 60-yard kicks from the other, head coach Ryan Lamb was delighted with how his side managed the conditions in both halves.

"It was brutal, that's probably one of the strongest winds I've seen on a rugby pitch in a fair few years, so I thought first half we managed that really well, our forwards got on top of them in scrum time and we got a decent lead going into the half at 24-0.

"We just had to manage that second half as best we could and I think we did that, we starved them of a lot of ball and all of our defensive sets were decent. We gave them a few easy ins, and fair play because they capitalised on them with a couple of scores in the second half, but I thought we managed that really well."

Among a number of good performances on the day, hooker Harry Wilkinson picked up the man of the match award, and Lamb praised his number 2 on his performance.
