Argyle fan pens novel about a struggling club

AN ardent Plymouth Argyle fan has written a novel about the trials and tribulations of a struggling football club.
-
Debut novelist Darryl Barkwill has penned FC Farce, which follows the misadventures of struggling lower Henlon Wanderers when it is forced to change its name to FC Farce.
Reviewers have already praised the novel for its plotline and humour and Darryl has even been minted to take part in Bude Literary Festival, on May 17FA Cup final day - alongside such names as Marcus Brigstocke and Jacqueline Wilson.
"I guess that isn't bad for someone who's only been in the game five minutes," said Darryl.
"The book has gone down well," he added. "People have told me they've found it really funny - which is what I was going for with the absurd humour.
"And a few people have asked about a sequel. I would need to consider where I take the story after a season of such mayhem, but I definitely want to write another book."
FC Farce features main character Graham, who reluctantly inherits a football club when his father dies.
