With Hazard set to be out of action for up to three months after ankle ligament surgery at the start of last week, Grimshaw has the chance to establish himself as the Pilgrims’ first choice between the posts. However, the club have also brought in Marko Marosi as a free agent to provide competition.
Marosi has made more than 300 appearances for Doncaster Rovers, Coventry City and Shrewsbury Town, so Grimshaw, who joined Argyle on a permanent transfer from League One outfit Blackpool last month after the departure of Michael Cooper to Sheffield United, knows he cannot afford to be complacent in any way.
He said: “Marko is an experienced goalkeeper and played a lot of games. He is not just going to come here and just sit there and accept I’m going to play. You don’t want that, you want a nice healthy competition between us all and everyone supporting each other in the right way.”
