FAMILY SAY JAGUAR DESIGN FLAW TO BLAME
THE family of a young boy who was tragically crushed to death in Plymouth have paid tribute to their “cheeky, precious” son.
Alfie Tollett was aged seven when he died in 2023 after he was caught between two vehicles when a driver mistakenly pressed the wrong button while trying to reverse.
Young Alfie was at one of his brother’s rugby games at Plymstock Albion Oaks RFC on February 19, 2023 when he found himself trapped between two vehicles while putting on his rugby boots.
The driver, inside a Jaguar Land Rover I-PACE, had “relied on feel” to find the reverse button while trying to realign the car, but instead accelerated forward for roughly 10 seconds, driving into Alfie. Though Alfie’s dad Stephen quickly tried to move the family car to free his son, the boy died shortly after.
