Channel 4 culture show The Word came to an end 30 years on March 24, 1995, after more than 100 episodes that saw everything from actor Oliver Reed offering a drunken rendition of The Troggs’ hit Wild Thing to the TV debut of Oasis performing Supersonic.
The series ran for five years and included appearances by Hollywood stars like Nicolas Cage, Sharon Stone, Jeff Goldblum and Arnold Schwarzenegger, alongside British talent.
