A DERELICT site on Plymouth’s Union Street which has been empty for nearly 20 years after a major fire could be brought back to life.
Plans have been put forward for the site at 86-88 Union Street, which was once home to Union Pine.
The scheme, which would involve three phases, would see the food court at the adjacent Jabulani site, at The Plot, move next door into the site. If successful, then further funding bids to expand into the rest of the site would then be submitted.
Plans have been submitted to Plymouth City Council to allow a change of use for the site to commercial and community uses, as well as to approve the installation of three mobile trailers, a meeting pod, landscaping, and the reopening of the Union Street entrance.
The applicants and leaseholders of the property are Jabulani/Diversity Business Incubator CIC.
